Cockroaches...Can Be Hazardous to Health and Mind

Cockroaches are annoying, of course. But did you know, they are also known for carrying multiple diseases?

American roaches have been reported to spread at least 33 kinds of bacteria as well as six kinds of parasitic worms and at least seven other kinds of human pathogens. They can pick up germs on the spines of their legs and bodies as they crawl through decaying matter or sewage and then carry these into food or onto food surfaces in your home.

Recent studies have shown that cockroach allergens cause allergies and exacerbate asthma attacks, especially in children and those living in metro-city areas such as large cities and those metro areas surrounding the cities. As with other species of roaches, American cockroaches can pose a threat to individuals with allergies and ashthma.

Not only are cockroaches an annoying and gross pest to have in your home, they can also cause illness in you and your children. If you suffer from this specific pest, call your local, licensed pest control professional.
